If anyone has any questions about using this device, or questions reagrding the Mixx software, please Post your reply here and I will respond as quickly as I can… I had no idea that my computer would even be able to do that since it was not that expensive. But since deleting the Creative Driver, and Installing the Hercules Driver, I can now acheive the lowest possible latency setting in Mixxx. I originally was using the CREATIVE XFi 5.1 External USB Soundcard, however it really took alot of “juice” for my computer to run the card and play music. I highly Doubt that you will have to turn it up, but if you do, Just remember to stay under 10ms for the best use of Timcoded devices / Control Vinyl. Start Playing some music, and set your latency to 2 ms (all the way to the left) and then increase the latency if you hear the music “breaking up”. Make sure to Select ASIO in the options of the Hercules Controller Setup window, (Click the DJ Icon in your tool bar, after installing Hercules Drivers, to view this window.) After that Just match your ASIO settings in the Mixxx Setup preferences under Sound Hardware. ![]() If you are using the Hercules Controller with mixxx… ![]() Those are the only 2 companys I would purchase a computer from. I really like Toshiba computers, and Dell too. Ive had the compouter for almost 2 years now. Not the most expensive computer by far, I paid about $420.00 at my local Best Buy. I have an in-expensive TOSHIBA Laptop, 2 gigs of RAM, with a AMD Turion 64, Dual Processor. Long story short…I was wanting a controller for a while now, and finally decided on the Hercules RMX, i wasnt sure at first about it, but now that I got it Im really happy to have it, you can take full advantage of Mixx, ive actually done major events using mixx, and now it will be that much easier havin the controller…time code is fun too…Happy Spinning ~scratchIT~ As long as you setup Mixx to use channel 3-4 for headphone output, slide the crossfader all the way to the left, and click the right headphone button and then you can use an external mixer for both decks, in stereo…I still use my Numark mixer because i can squeeze some more treble out of the signal, and have super clear highs, and have better adjustment of the levels…(always keep your meter rite at 0db for the best signal using RCA connection). And you can use an external mixer if you want faster reaction time on the crossfader using the 2 stereo ouputs for channel one stereo, and channel two stereo. The configuration is really easy to do as well, both the timecode setup and the sound card setup…You can plug your turntables or cdjs into the soundcard and use Serato Time code (and others, see menu options in mixx vinyl setup) Vinyl, or download a CD for CDjs for free from Virtual DJ Website…it tells you how to make the cd, very easy…i prefer the vinyl because turntables are old school and its fun to play newer music from the “turntables”, people think its awesome! lol…ĪLSO: Most of you know this, but if you dont, its a MIDI Controller and MIXX has all the MIDI codes preset and all you have to do is select the controller from the list and all the functions on the Hercules controller work for mixx, its way easier than trying use the keyboard shortcuts. That was the only way it would play music clearly, making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to scratch using the timecode records from serato.īUT!!!, NOW…with the hercules rmx i can go down to 2ms of latency!!! I swear!! My time code is working really well now by using this devices ASIO USB Sound Card. I been using MIXX for a while now, and have always had to have my LATENCY setting on 62ms. Whats cool is that it is a MIDI Controller, AND…Ī FOUR (4) CHANNEL USB SOUND CARD BUILT IN TO THE CONSOLE!!!Ģ Stereo Inputs Line or Phono RCA or 1/4 inch jacks Ģ Stereo outputs Line Level, RCA or 1/4 inch jacks… And a Limited Edition of Virtual DJ with a matching skin to match the console controls, which is everything. A really nice laptop style case with shoulder strap and internal pouch for the also included heavy duty usb cord they give you to carry / store the unit between shows, or while not using to keep dust away from the “sliders”. and many other options that you can go read about on their website. Included is the Large, Brushed steel metallic heavy duty console, which has lots of buttons, that light up blue when in use, well spaced and placed too, tempo and volume sliders (“faders”), “loose” crossfader, and jog dials that can be used for scratch mode, or tempo adjustment / song alignment. I just picked up the HERCULES RMX DJ Console
